Hallo Leute,

vorletzte Woche hat Poison euch ja schon von unseren „offenen Charakteren“ erzählt. Ich sag ja immer, dass Poison einfach besser darin ist, unseren lieben Luzi zu schreiben, dafür habe ich ein größeres Talent für das „himmlische Geflügel“ (Zitat: Grace). Die Rede ist natürlich von den vier Erzengeln.

Wir haben ja schon mal erklärt, dass die Geschichte mit der Zeit eine Art Eigenleben entwickelt hat. Ich glaube, so wirklich geplant war es nicht, dass die Erzengel auftreten. Aber nachdem Luzifer leibhaftig auftauchte, brauchten wir einen „guten“ Gegenpol.  Da hab ich dann den ersten Engel des Herrn auftreten lassen: Erzengel Michael. Schließlich soll der es auch gewesen sein, der Luzifer aus dem Himmel vertrieb und in die Hölle hinab warf. Die anderen Erzengel kamen dann auch noch dazu… irgendwie. Wie genau es dazu kam, dass wir dachten, die müssen auch auftreten, weiß ich gar nicht mehr. Wie gesagt: Die Geschichte hat irgendwie ein Eigenleben entwickelt O.o

Da Michael als erstes auftauchte ist er auch der Engel-mäßigste von allen Vieren. Er ist eben himmlisch und wahrlich erhaben. Michael trägt den Beinamen Araboth. Sein Name kommt aus dem Hebräischen und bedeutet so viel wie „Wer ist wie Gott?“. Ihm sind das Element Feuer und passend dazu die Farbe Rot zugeordnet. Michael trägt ein flammendes Schwert, erschafft Feuer und Wärme und gibt dem Blut seine Qualität. Die ihm zugeordnete Himmelsrichtung ist der Süden.
Entsprechend dieser ihm zugeordneten Attribute und Eigenschaften, beschreiben wir Michael als jungen Mann, der mit einem blassroten, Toga-ähnlichen Gewand bekleidet ist und von einem hellen Licht umgeben ist.

Die anderen Engel werden eigentlich fast genauso beschrieben.
So trägt Gabriel eine bläuliche Toga. Schwer zu erraten, dass seine Farbe Blau ist. Sein Element ist das Wasser und seine Himmelsrichtung der Norden. Gabriel gilt als Vorsteher der Cherubim und Seraphim. Außerdem war er der Engel, der Maria die Botschaft ihrer unbefleckten Empfängnis überbrachte. Als ein solch wichtiger Engel ist er neben Michael der einzige der einen Beinamen trägt, so lautet sein voller Name Gabriel Makon. Der Name Gabriel stammt ebenso wie Michael aus dem Hebräischen und bedeutet „Mein Mann ist Gott“. Gabriel trägt kein Schwert, nein, sein Symbol ist eine Lilie. Da er die Welt der Gefühle und der Emotionen und das Unterbewusstsein regiert, wird Gabriel in unserem Buch recht kumpelhaft beschrieben. Er tritt als eine Art verständnisvoller Freund auf.

Auch Raphael ist bei seinem Auftreten besorgt um unsere Helden, aber bei ihm rührt es daher, dass er durch die Winde, die ihm unterstehen, heilende Kräfte beherrschen soll. Bei ihm ist es also eher so eine Art „Berufsverhältnis“. Da ihm die Winde unterstehen, ist wohl klar, dass das ihm zugeordnete Element die Luft ist. Ferner ist ihm der Westen zugeordnet und gemäß seiner Farbe trägt er ein blassgrünes Gewand. Wer dachte, dass Garbiels Lilie schon seltsam ist, der sollte mal sehen, was Raphael so mit sich herum trägt: Stab, Flasche und Fisch.
Was er mit dem Fisch will, weiß ich auch nicht so recht. Vermutlich hat es irgendwas mit Schutzpatronentum zu tun oder so. Aber Raphael hat ein hübsches Siegel. Einfach mal danach googlen ;) Ach richtig, sein Name bedeutet so viel wie „Gott hat geheilt“ und stammt auch aus dem Hebräischen.

Auch hier gilt (wie bei den sieben Todsünden), wer mitgezählt hat merkt schon: Einer fehlt noch. Der letzte Erzengel, der übrigens häufig gar nicht mitgezählt wird, ist Uriel. In unserer Geschichte trägt er ein silbrig-weißes Gewand. Wer aufgepasst hat, weiß auch schon, dass ihm das Element Erde und die Himmelsrichtung Osten zugeteilt sind. Uriel ist der Herr der Ordnung und der Harmonie. Wie all die anderen Namen, stammt auch seiner aus dem Hebräischen. Er bedeutet „Mein Licht ist Gott“.

Ich sagte ja, dass ich versucht habe, jedem der vier Engel eine eigene Persönlichkeit zu geben. Michael ist der Erhabene, Gabriel ist der Kumpel, Raphael ist der Geschäftsmann und Uriel… ja Uriel ist ein Fall für sich schätze ich. Wir amüsieren uns immer wieder über Uriels Auftritt in unserer Geschichte. Wieso er so geworden ist, weiß ich ehrlich gesagt auch nicht. Er ist auf jeden Fall nicht so wie man sich einen Engel vorstellen würde. Naja… wartet mal bis wir unser Buch veröffentlichen, dann könnt ihr es selbst lesen. Allerdings erst im zweiten Teil ;)

Das sind also unsere vier Erzengel. Alle verschieden und doch sehr ähnlich. War ihr Auftreten nicht wirklich geplant, so änderte sich auch ihre Rolle merklich, während wir schrieben.
Da wir ja noch nicht ganz fertig sind mit schreiben, kann es durchaus sein, dass sich die Rolle der Engel immer noch weiter entwickelt. Aber wir haben ja mittlerweile endlich einen festen Plan, sodass die Möglichkeiten der Änderung nur gering sind ;)

Character description – The Archangels

Hello there,

the week before last Poison told you about the „open characters“ we use. I always say, that Poison is better at writing texts of our lovely Luzi and I therefore have a bigger gift  for the „celestial poultry“ (Quote: Grace). Of course the topic is about the four archangels.

We already explained, that the story evolved some kind of independent existence over time. I think it wasn’t planned, that the archangels appear but after Luzifer appears in person, we needed a „good“ opposition. So I let the first angel of the Lord appear: Archangel Michael. After all he was said to dislodge Luzifer out of heaven and to sling him down to hell. The other archangels also joined in then… somehow. I don’t know any more, how it happen exactly that we thought they should appear as well. Like I said, the story evolved into an independent existence O.o

As Michael appears first he also is the most angel-like of the four. He is just heavenly and truly lordly. Michael bears the sobriquet Araboth. His name comes from Hebrew and means „Who is like God?“.  He is attributed with the element fire and fittingly the colour red. Michael carries a flaming sword, creates fire and warmth and gives blood its quality. His assigned cardinal point is South.
According to those attributes and characteristic traits we describe Michael as young man that is appareled with a pale red toga-like robe and surrounded by bright light.

The other angles are nearly described the same way.
Gabriel is wearing a blueish toga. Hard to guess that his color is blue. His element is water and his cardinal point North. Gabriel is considered as abbot of the cherumbim and seraphim. Furthermore was he the angel that delivered the message of her immaculate conception to Maria. As such an important angel he is beside Michael the only one with a sobriquet, therefore is full name is Gabriel Makon. The name Gabriel also comes from Hebrew and means „My man is God“. Gabriel doesn’t carry a sword, no, his symbol is a lily. As he reigns over the world of feelings and emotions and the subconsciousness Gabriel is described as a rather chummy sort of guy in our book. He appears as a kind of sympathetic friend.

Raphael is also concerned about our hero during his first appearance, but this is due to the winds, that are under his control, that are said to hold healing powers. For him it is therefore more some kind of „business relationship“. As the winds are his subordinates it is obvious that his assigned element is air. Furthermore is the West assigned to him and corresponding to his color he is wearing a pale green robe.
If you thought that Gabriel’s lily was strange than you should see what Raphael caries aroung with him: staff, bottle and fish.
What he wants with the fish, I don’t really know. Probably something with guardian saintism or so. But Raphael has a pretty seal. Just google it ;) Ah right, his name means something like „God has healed“ and origins as well from Hebrew.

Here, as well (as with the Seven Deadly Sins), those who have counted along notice: One is still missing. The last of the archangels, who by the way is not always counted as such, is Uriel. In our story he is wearing a silvery-white robe. Who paid attention, already knows that he is attributed with element earth and the cardinal point East. Uriel is the lord of order and harmony. Like all the other names does his name as well origin from Hebrew. It means „My light is God“.

As I said, I did try to give each of the four archangels their own personality. Micheal is the lordly one, Gabriel is the pal, Raphael is the business man and Uriel…well Uriel is a case of his own, I guess. We always have a good laugh because of his appearance in our story. Why he became like this, I honestly don’t know either. He is in any case not how you would imagine an angel. Well…wait until our book is published, then you can read it for yourself. However not until part two ;)

And these are our four archangels. All of them different and yet pretty similar. Was their appearance not really planned, so have their role distinctly changed as we wrote.
As we aren’t completely done with writing, it can probably be that the role of the angels is still developing. But we have by now finally set some plans, therefore the possibility of change is pretty small ;)
